THE COWORKING CAMP IS THE BIG TREND FOR 2021

THE COWORKING CAMP IS THE BIG TREND FOR 2021

Working remotely doesn’t mean you have to work from home from now on. These days, you can work in a coffee shop (if one is open) or a coworking space. But if you still want to take a vacation or travel overseas, you may have problems finding a place where you can work for several days that doesn’t involve sitting in a hotel. This is where a coworking camp could fill your need for international travel and still let you get work done.

A regular coworking space is like working in a coffee shop. You can get a “hot desk,” which means you pick a new desk every day, just like working in a coffee shop. Or you can get a reserved desk, which means you get the same spot every day.

A coworking camp is like a coworking space, but you can live and work in the same place. There’s a lodge or individual cabins, you eat your meals at the facility, and you have a chance to network with other entrepreneurs and digital nomads who want to experience a new way of working. These remote working facilities are in exotic locales like Bali, New Guinea, Greece, Brazil, or Portugal, just to name a few places.

Also called a workation, a coworking camp is basically a time for you to get away to a new country, hunker down, and work for 10 – 14 days. They’re being filled quickly, making the coworking camp one of the hot new work-travel trends of 2021.

THE APPEAL OF THE COWORKING CAMP

While working from home has been the dream for many of us for years, now that we can live that dream, we’re finding that it’s a little. . . well, dull. For the entrepreneurs and true remote workers, we’ve been able to go to cafés, coworking spaces, or even rent a small private office in an office complex. It’s just those of us who are waking up and going to sleep in the same place day after day who are wishing for a change of scenery.

A coworking camp is designed to fuel the hearts and minds of entrepreneurs continuously. They’re inexpensive, they’re in a place you might not normally visit, and you can still get work done without feeling guilty that you’re spending time on vacation. Not only are you forging ahead on your business, but you’re surrounded by other entrepreneurs who are doing the same, sharing that same kind of energy.

The coworking camp has different locations: you eat in one place, sleep in another, work in a third, and there’s gorgeous scenery to look at. It’s not like working, eating, and sleeping in the same place for a month.

Plus, you won’t be tempted to do the things at home that you would normally want to do, like laundry, cleaning, or alphabetizing your socks, because you just don’t want to update your website.

COWORKING CAMPS ARE GREAT FOR TRAVELERS

While you could always stay home and visit a local coworking space, you can’t scratch that travel itch you’ve had for the last ten months. You can choose a place like Bali, Portugal, or Spain with a coworking camp and do it without worrying that your work is piling up for the next 30 days.

For example, Tulum, Mexico has a coworking camp where you can stay for $1,450/week, and stay for as long as a month. You get lodging, food, fitness classes, and of course, wifi, all for that price.

And if your coworking camp is at a beach or near a forest, you can go for hikes or spend some of the best lunch breaks of your life. It’s also something to look forward to at the end of the day as a reward for all the hard work you put in.

If you want to travel for a few weeks, go somewhere relatively inexpensive, and still get work done, a coworking camp may be your best bet.
