Summer 2020 travel is certainly different then what we’ve all been accustomed to in the past — but the pandemic doesn’t mean you still can’t responsibly enjoy fun destinations and still stay safe. Branson, Missouri is one of those places that we encourage you to consider, and it’s often referred to by many as “Fun City USA” … Located in the 24th State in our Nation, aka the “Show Me State” — and centrally located within a 500-mile drive from about half the country, there’s a lot to see, do and enjoy in Branson!
As we present another “Destination Spotlight” from our popular series in our nationally syndicated travel radio show, if you’re looking for a family-oriented destination that has a large number of outdoor activities and offers something for every type of traveler, you’ll find it in Branson.
For example, if you like to hike, you’ll find many trails catering to all levels of adventurers in the beautiful Ozarks, or you can opt to horseback ride along the Ozarks if you enjoy horses and prefer that activity. Don’t miss Table Rock Lake — famous for its fishing and boating, and there’s plenty of outdoor shopping available during this time of social distancing at Branson Landing. If you’re a golfer, this is a must-visit destination as it features some amazing choices in courses designed by some of the greatest golfers in the game including Tiger Woods, Tom Fazio, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Payne Stewart and more.
As far as dining goes in this heartland destination, you’ll find great classic American burger joints and you can’t or shouldn’t visit Branson without getting a slice of pie somewhere. You’ll find delicious homemade pies in all kinds of flavors on most menus in Branson. If you’re a barbecue fan, Branson’s pitmasters serve up some seriously good BBQ. Danna’s BBQ and Burger Shop is a local favorite famous for its specialty creations and Getting’ Basted which is located in the center of the Entertainment District offers award-winning BBQ and a menu favorite, is the mac & cheese with crispy pork belly and BBQ sauce!
No visit is complete without a trip to the iconic Silver Dollar City — considered one of the best theme parks in the world, it’s an 1880’s theme park experience that delivers on fun. If you go during the summer or fall of 2020, plan to make your reservations in advance as they are operating with new health protocols in place so you’ll want to check the details beforehand so you can fully enjoy your visit.
Although known for its abundance of outdoor activities in the warm weather months, don’t think of Branson as strictly a Memorial Day through Labor Day destination, because it offers something for every season — and Branson is a special treat at Christmas. The entire town is decorated with millions of lights, Christmas trees are everywhere and the entertainment and atmosphere are as festive as it gets during the holiday season.
Whether your travels this summer keep you closer to home, or you decide to branch out to destinations hundreds of miles away, give Branson some serious consideration as it’s a place that’s well suited for travel during the Coronavirus —- and a destination that we believe is worthy of your travel dollars.
