Do the listed dimensions include wheels and handles?

We publish both numbers. The case dimensions (the packing body only) are 29.5 x 20.5 x 12.75 in. The overall dimensions, which include wheels and carry handles, are 32.5 x 21 x 13.25 in. When airlines publish carry-on size limits, they mean the overall size, wheels and handles included, so compare the overall number to your airline's limit.

How many linear inches is this bag, and will I owe oversize fees?

Linear inches are height + width + depth. This bag measures 62.75 linear inches by case dimensions and 66.75 including wheels and handles. The standard checked-bag limit on most airlines is 62 linear inches (158 cm), so this bag runs slightly over. In practice it is accepted as a standard checked bag on most airlines, but a carrier that measures strictly may charge an oversize fee. If you fly airlines known for strict enforcement or are packing for a cruise line with hard limits, the Medium Check-In (25") stays comfortably inside 62 linear inches. How much can I pack before hitting airline weight limits?

Most U.S. airlines cap checked bags at 50 lbs. This bag weighs 11.5 lbs empty, which leaves about 38 lbs of packing before standard overweight fees. At 143.5 L it is possible to out-pack the weight limit before you run out of space, so a luggage scale is a good companion for long trips.

Will my clothes wrinkle in a bag this size?

It has a built-in fold-out suiter designed to carry suits, dresses, or jackets flat, plus adjustable hold-down straps to keep the main compartment from shifting in transit.

Does the expansion matter on a checked bag?

Yes. The zippered expansion adds about 2 inches of packing depth, and a fully expanded bag may not fit a strict airline sizer. If your airline enforces its sizer, board with the bag unexpanded and save the expansion for the trip home or checked segments.

How do I set the TSA lock combination?

The lock ships set to 0-0-0. To set your own code: turn the dials to 0-0-0, remove the zipper pullers from the lock, press the reset button on the side of the lock with a pen until it clicks, choose your combination, then press or slide the release button. How do I make a warranty claim or get repairs?

Submit a repair request through our warranty repair page for an online evaluation, with photos of the issue and your proof of purchase (or product registration). If the issue is covered, Travelpro provides replacement parts or, when a bag cannot be repaired under an active warranty, a replacement bag. Prefer in-person help? How do I clean and care for it?

Use a 50/50 mixture of alcohol and water, apply with a soft cloth, and gently rub the affected area until the spot lifts. Let the bag air dry completely before storing. A little lemon juice in the mixture freshens the fabric. More care tips are in our customer FAQ.

When I pulled the case out of the shipping box, I instantly noticed how lightweight it was. But lightweight doesn't mean fragile. Far from it. The construction and materials used feel solid and comfortable. The straps are ideally located for ease of lifting/moving, and the wheels literally glide over my floor. Great but not so great

"Unfortunately, I hate to use this beautiful bag. Every time I have used it, even under packed without shoes or use of the garment option, the bag ends up being overweight. I hate I bought it and should have just gotten 2 medium bags. I can't really use it despite it being great to maneuver and great organizationally. Now I'm stuck with a costly piece of luggage that I can't really use. It may be great for a road trip, but if it has to be packed for a week trip, which is why I bought it, it may not work out for you as it did not work out for me on at least 3 occasions. Now what?? If I could return it for the medium I would do so right away. Think twice about this size. It could cost you an extra 100. 00 at the airport! Now what do I do with this luggage because I'm flying, not taking road trips."
