We publish both numbers. The case dimensions (the packing body only) are 26 x 18.5 x 11 in. The overall dimensions, which include wheels and carry handles, are 28 x 19 x 11 in. When airlines publish size limits they mean the overall size, so compare the overall number to your airline's limit.

Most U.S. airlines cap checked bags at 50 lbs. This bag weighs 7.1 lbs empty, which leaves about 42.9 lbs of packing before standard overweight fees. A luggage scale is a good companion for long trips.
Expansion adds packing depth, which also adds to the bag's linear inches and invites heavier packing. If you are near your airline's size or weight limit, measure and weigh the bag expanded, the way it will actually fly.

Use a 50/50 mixture of alcohol and water, apply with a soft cloth, and gently rub the affected area until the spot lifts. Let the bag air dry completely before storing. A little lemon juice in the mixture freshens the fabric. More care tips are in our customer FAQ.

"PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE BRING MORE 2 WHEEL LUGGAGE BACK! I am taking a month long trip and feel this bag is certainly big enough, and light enough and was the only 2 wheel option you have. However, I'm already guessing the top handle will be torn off by the airline. Travelpro and SwissGear used to have a study frame, and the handles were mounted with more than about a 3 inch section f the handles grommeted to the frame. I've already had 2 handles torn off with the last two pieces of luggage after only 2 trips. As a precaution, I took this to a shop and they added an extra grommet to keep the handle on securely. I'll keep you posted after trip. But when you are pulling luggage over cobbled streets, the 2 wheel is the best option as they are more recessed."
