We publish both numbers. The case dimensions (the packing body only) are 27.5 x 18.5 x 12 in. The overall dimensions, which include wheels and carry handles, are 30.5 x 19.5 x 12 in. When airlines publish size limits they mean the overall size, so compare the overall number to your airline's limit.

Expansion adds packing depth, which also adds to the bag's linear inches and invites heavier packing. If you are near your airline's size or weight limit, measure and weigh the bag expanded, the way it will actually fly.
The lock ships set to 0-0-0. To set your own code: turn the dials to 0-0-0, remove the zipper pullers from the lock, press the reset button on the side of the lock with a pen until it clicks, choose your combination, then press or slide the release button. Combine mild soap and water, apply with a soft cloth, gently rub until clean, rinse well, and let the bag air dry completely before storing. "I'm disappointed in this product. Took it on it's first trip and it was not as "scratch resistant" as I would've hoped. . . both the case and protected corners were scratched, and the top of the case also has a dent - this after only one trip?! Product certainly didn't live up to the hype."
"Nice looking set of luggage. Wheels roll very nicely. Handle is smooth to raise and lower. Zippers are smooth. Like that it came with extra zipper pulls, shoe bags, and luggage tags. Only thing I dislike is the 25 inch and 29 inch bag are the same width so you can't beat the luggage. The carry one fits in either of the larger but you can't nest all 3. The locking zipper into the TSA lock works nicely. We purchased this same luggage in all 3 sizes for 3 of us so far but waiting on a new color before we can buy the 3rd set as we all want different colors."

"I’ve used Travelpro luggage for years for business travel. I typically purchased bags from the Crew line, but one was destroyed during transit, so I decided to switch to a hardshell design instead. The Platinum Elite bag is very impressive—it incorporates some key elements from the Crew series, features upgraded wheels, and now includes a handle on the bottom, which is a great bonus. I have a smaller version from last year that doesn’t have a handle, so seeing one on this model is definitely an upgrade. "What a fantastic piece of luggage . I was a little concerned because of its size and it being too heavy empty. That's not the case at all . It's quite light although I would caution I could see myself easily exceeding 50lbs if not careful. The construction is first rate . I love the textured exterior and protective corners . These were important as the airlines have crushed my non travelpro pieces because they didn't have adequate corner protection . The wheels are amazing and it rolls smooth as can be on any surface . Interior is quite large with a shoe bag and zippered sides to keep things separated . Material on the interior is very nice . Overall my favorite piece of Travelpro luggage . I love the inside divider panels with zippers on each side to hold everything in place so it's not all tossed around when you open it back up. And there are zippers on the divider panels to safely secure small treasures. It holds a lot - I had to be careful not to over pack! It is very easy to wheel around - and the handles are strong and easy to grab. The shell is very strong - no scratches after several uses. I would definitely order this again!"

"This is my fourth travel, pro bag, and it measures up to my needs without a question. It rolls extremely well, and really don’t have any problems in the airport or at the baggage claim. I wish the handle was a little bit longer because I carry a backpack with a sleeve on it, although the handle is very sturdy and I really appreciate that, also. The tiedowns inside the compartments, along with the zippered closing left and right compartments are very useful as I can put different clothing for work and play in different sides. I usually cover my bag with a large duffel when it goes underneath the plane as I found that to be the best way to travel for the last 20 years.
