Do the listed dimensions include wheels and handles?

We publish both numbers. The case dimensions (the packing body only) are 24.75 x 17 x 10.5 in. The overall dimensions, which include wheels and carry handles, are 27.25 x 18 x 11 in. When airlines publish size limits they mean the overall size, so compare the overall number to your airline's limit.

How many linear inches is this bag, and will I owe oversize fees?

Linear inches are height + width + depth. This bag measures 52.25 linear inches by case dimensions and 56.25 including wheels and handles. The standard checked-bag limit on most airlines is 62 linear inches (158 cm). This bag sits within that limit. More detail in our luggage size and weight guide.

How much can I pack before hitting airline weight limits?

Most U.S. airlines cap checked bags at 50 lbs. This bag weighs 9.4 lbs empty, which leaves about 40.6 lbs of packing before standard overweight fees. A luggage scale is a good companion for long trips.

How do I make a warranty claim or get repairs?

Submit a repair request through our warranty repair page for an online evaluation, with photos of the issue and your proof of purchase (or product registration). If the issue is covered, Travelpro provides replacement parts or, when a bag cannot be repaired under an active warranty, a replacement bag. Prefer in-person help? Find the nearest authorized repair center. Full coverage details are on the warranty information page.

How do I clean and care for it?

Use a 50/50 mixture of alcohol and water, apply with a soft cloth, and gently rub the affected area until the spot lifts. Let the bag air dry completely before storing. A little lemon juice in the mixture freshens the fabric. More care tips are in our customer FAQ.

What warranty does this come with?

Travelpro products are covered against defects in materials and workmanship. See our warranty pages for the coverage that applies to this collection, plus our 100-day satisfaction trial with free returns.

Purchased this checked bag along

"Purchased this checked bag along with the matching carry on to replace an old Away hard shell set whose handles disintegrated, the pull-out handle couldn't be retrofitted, and warranty claims were complicated and problematic. This is a beautiful bag. Appears very well made with lots of pockets and compartments for packing. It's lightweight and the spinner wheels are excellent. Very handsome blue color. This should be a great bag to take to Hawaii with lots of room for souvenirs."

— Jeffrey L. (5/5)

So far what I can

"So far what I can see is this luggage is solid. But I didn't realize how heavy it is. My luggage that I used for over 20 years is lighter than this. We each used the medium Crew Classic to fly internationally and there is a defect in one of the pulls on the zipper. It keeps falling off. We will take care of this with a customer service call when we return home. I'm wondering now if I should have purchased the maxlite 5."

— Barbara A. (4/5)

I did significant research on

"I did significant research on about every piece of soft-sided luggage there is. While I prefer hard shell luggage, I chose the TravelPro Crew Classic Medium Check-In because for my next adventure, I needed soft-sided luggage and didn't want to bring a duffle bag, There is a lot I like about the Crew Classic Medium Check-In. The wheels are great The Zipper seems good. There is a fair amount of space (and I need to make sure I don't overpack). I can remove the suiter. The only thing I really don't care for in this luggage (and its true of nearly every competitor) is I rather not have the zipper pocket on the outside. While that design is great for a carry-on, because the medium is a checked bag, if I need to pack anything in that space, I need to lock it with an extra lock that doesn't come with the luggage. And to me, if there is to be an outside zipper pocket, it should have a TSA lock. But, I rather not have the outside pocket at all (and I understand others may prefer it) because for me its a waste of much needed interior space for checked luggage. I will be using the medium check-in soon and will see how it holds up....hopefully well."

— James W. (4/5)

Great piece of luggage so

"Great piece of luggage so far. First trip toSwitzerland for three weeks, so a little early but so far, luggage has held up well and most importantly, the wheels glide so smoothly!"

— Brenda L. (5/5)

Great rolling, self-aligning wheels make

"Great rolling, self-aligning wheels make this suitcase a dream to maneuver. The spacious interior has plenty of space. This is a piece of luggage I'll enjoy for years."

— Scott (5/5)

Lightweight and sturdy, this bag

"Lightweight and sturdy, this bag is big enough for most trips and easier to manage than a bigger bag. I like the pullout handle, with feels solid, and the exterior which seems tough."

— Linda J. (5/5)

A great bag, problem-free so

"A great bag, problem-free so far. We downsized from large check-in bags and are pleased with the carrying capacity of these bags. They glide nicely and appear quite stable (unlike the international carry-on which I’ve reviewed separately). We’re quite happy with our purchase."

— Marika D. (5/5)

Have had crew luggage many

"Have had crew luggage many years and love the durability."

— Thomas M. (5/5)

"Roomier than I thought."
