We publish both numbers. The case dimensions (the packing body only) are 24.5 x 16.25 x 11.75 in. The overall dimensions, which include wheels and carry handles, are 27.5 x 17.5 x 11.75 in. When airlines publish size limits they mean the overall size, so compare the overall number to your airline's limit.

How do I set the TSA lock combination?

The lock ships set to 0-0-0. To set your own code: turn the dials to 0-0-0, remove the zipper pullers from the lock, press the reset button on the side of the lock with a pen until it clicks, choose your combination, then press or slide the release button. How do I make a warranty claim or get repairs?

Submit a repair request through our warranty repair page for an online evaluation, with photos of the issue and your proof of purchase (or product registration). If the issue is covered, Travelpro provides replacement parts or, when a bag cannot be repaired under an active warranty, a replacement bag. Prefer in-person help? How do I clean and care for it?

Combine mild soap and water, apply with a soft cloth, gently rub until clean, rinse well, and let the bag air dry completely before storing. Surface scuffs on hardside shells are cosmetic and do not affect performance. The full-grain leather trim needs no special treatment; wipe it with a dry cloth. "This suitcase is the best my entire family owns. Enough fluff, details: zippers are incredible sturdy but slide like butter. The roll on this suitcase is better than my Platinum Elites... I mean they're just wheels! How can they be better and better with each iteration?! The packing cubes that are included should have cost their own little fortune. I already have a set and now I'm mad that I spent money on the previous ones that don't even open and close nicely. As a travelpro family, I'm pleased to say this line is my new addiction. Everything about it feels elite."

Extremely sturdy and well designed.

"Extremely sturdy and well designed. Lots of space and organizational features allow you to pack a surprisingly large amount of items. I have added a couple organizing items (folded shirts pack, and business suit folding bag) to surprising effect, full two weeks business trip in Europe. As a checked in piece it is a rather manageable size for a sexagenarian and it slides beautifully. Highly recommended."

I have seen so many

"I have seen so many hardshell cases with damage and even broken wheels that I was initially skeptical. However, Travelpro has never let me down with the many different bags that I have used over the years and the Platinum Elite Reserve Medium Check-in has impressed me greatly. The exterior has a nice design that stands out and is easy to spot. The shell is resistant to bangs, dents and scrapes and the wheels glide smoothly and effortlessly. It is lightweight and offers a lot of interior space for packing efficiently even when it is full. The beautifully made lining is striking and well made, even the included packing cubes are a very nice option to further organize this very well made luggage. Well done Travelpro!"

Just received the new platinum

"Just received the new platinum reserve hardside case. I own multiple Travelpro softside cases, and I generally prefer that form factor due to ease of use with unfolding, so this product was a different experience for me but I wanted to give it a fair shot. I just took it on a 2 week oversease trip. Overall I was very impressed with the build quality. Opening the case felt sturdy and it didn't feel like the two halves were going to fall apart, which has been an issue I have had with other hardside cases. Empty weight felt good, light but premium feeling and not cheap or flimsy at all. The soft interior materials including the packing cubes have a very premium feel and held up nicely. The wheels and handle are great and seem on par with my other Travelpro suitcases, so I imagine they would hold up just as well. My only issue is the design of the top of the handle which flares out slightly; this seems to be a Travelpro design cue as it is present on their other products. Because it widens a bit on both sides, it is more difficult to slide down some bags over the handle (the bags with the built in flaps on the back to go over the handle). It still works for sure but it's a bit tougher to put the bags on and off. But overall, as a softside luggage guy, I have been very satisfied with this hardside case and would recommend easily especially if hardside is your preference."
