We publish both numbers. The case dimensions (the packing body only) are 19.75 x 13.75 x 9.5 in. The overall dimensions, which include wheels and carry handles, are 23 x 14.5 x 9.5 in. When airlines publish size limits they mean the overall size, so compare the overall number to your airline's limit.

Will this carry-on fit my airline's size limits?

Yes, for the major U.S. airlines: this bag is sizer-bin tested and fits the carry-on sizers and overhead bins on mainline aircraft of the major U.S. carriers. Like most premium carry-ons, its overall height (23 in.) is slightly above the commonly published 22 x 14 x 9 in. standard, and it still fits where it matters: the sizer and the bin.

Does expanding the bag change whether it fits airline sizers?

Yes. The zippered expansion adds extra packing depth, and a fully expanded bag may not fit a strict airline sizer. If your airline enforces its sizer, board with the bag unexpanded and save the expansion for the trip home or checked segments.

How do I set the TSA lock combination?

The lock ships set to 0-0-0. To set your own code: turn the dials to 0-0-0, remove the zipper pullers from the lock, press the reset button on the side of the lock with a pen until it clicks, choose your combination, then press or slide the release button. How do I make a warranty claim or get repairs?

Submit a repair request through our warranty repair page for an online evaluation, with photos of the issue and your proof of purchase (or product registration). If the issue is covered, Travelpro provides replacement parts or, when a bag cannot be repaired under an active warranty, a replacement bag. Prefer in-person help? How do I clean and care for it?

Combine mild soap and water, apply with a soft cloth, gently rub until clean, rinse well, and let the bag air dry completely before storing. Surface scuffs on hardside shells are cosmetic and do not affect performance; store the bag in its provided fabric cover when not in use. More care tips are in our customer FAQ.

"This is my favorite hardside cary-on luggage! I have a few hardside carry-ons and this one is by far the best. The redesign looks phenomenal, the build quality is better than any other one I have. The construction and materials are perfect! I love all the compartments and zippered pockets. I also love that both sides of the luggage have compression tie down straps which allows you to compress 100% of your belongings as opposed to just one half."

A solid improvement from the

"A solid improvement from the previous generation. The materials feel better. . . especially the inside zipper (comparing to a Platinum Elite hard side large I also have). Will I replace the previous generation? No. But would I recommend this generation over the previous? Yes, definitely. All the zipper glide smooth both inside and the main outside. The TSA lock is easy to set, works as expected. The wheels are incredible smooth. I'm not sure I noticed an improvement with the magnetic functionality of the wheels (they can gently "lock" back into place), but it's not a downside. I've used this for two round trip flights thus far as a carry on and had no issues fitting it in American Airlines nor Delta Airlines overhead compartments. If I had to give it a con. . . the provided luggage tag is a bit "cheap" feeling. . . I'll swap that with one of my own. But no big deal. Also they advertise having an internal "tracker" pocket but there are no pictures. It's just a little inside pocket on the left-side compartment, large enough to fit an AirTag or similar tracker."

"This case is solid, light, well-built and rolls easily whether on 4 wheels or two. However, this model does not hold nearly as much as my wife's soft-sided counterpart. While it does expand about two inches, i had hoped to be able to use this as a carry-on holding what i need for a 4-5 day trip. In retrospect, I wish I had ordered the soft-sided model. Ironically, this case appears to be so well made that wearing it out will be far in the future."
