Will this fit under an airline seat?

It is designed to: the overall size including wheels and handle is 17 x 14 x 8.75 in. sized for the underseat space on mainline aircraft of major U.S. airlines. Underseat clearance varies by aircraft and seat position, so bulkhead rows and smaller regional aircraft may require the overhead bin instead.

Do the listed dimensions include wheels and handles?

We publish both numbers. The case dimensions (the packing body only) are 15.5 x 13.75 x 8 in. The overall dimensions, which include wheels and carry handles, are 17 x 14 x 8.75 in. When airlines publish size limits they mean the overall size, so compare the overall number to your airline's limit.

Does this count as my carry-on or my personal item?

On most U.S. airlines it fits the personal-item role (the bag that goes under the seat), which can let you bring a full-size carry-on too. Some airlines publish personal-item limits smaller than their underseat space, so check your carrier. Our airline size guide is a good starting point.

Will it fit my laptop?

Yes, the padded sleeve fits laptops up to 14 inches. That covers 13 and 14 inch models such as the MacBook Air 13, MacBook Pro 14, Dell XPS 13 and 14, and ThinkPad X1 Carbon. 15 and 16 inch laptops will not fit the sleeve. Screen size is the guide; a slim sleeve or case on the laptop usually still fits.

Is it water resistant?

Yes. The exterior fabric has a DuraGuard® coating that resists water and stains, so it holds up to rainy sidewalks and daily wear.

How do I make a warranty claim or get repairs?

Submit a repair request through our warranty repair page for an online evaluation, with photos of the issue and your proof of purchase (or product registration). If the issue is covered, Travelpro provides replacement parts or, when a bag cannot be repaired under an active warranty, a replacement bag. Prefer in-person help? How do I clean and care for it?

Use a 50/50 mixture of alcohol and water, apply with a soft cloth, and gently rub the affected area until the spot lifts. Let the bag air dry completely before storing. A little lemon juice in the mixture freshens the fabric. More care tips are in our customer FAQ.

The design is not ideal.

"The design is not ideal. Each time I lower the telescopic handle and try to close the zipper, the two zippers that close the main part of the bag get caught. This requires me to stop each time to move the two zippers out of the way so that I can close the zipper that houses the handle. The band in the back of the luggage is too tight to put over the handle of a larger piece of luggage. I would not recommend anyone buy this model. I am sorry I did."
