We publish both numbers. The case dimensions (the packing body only) are 24.75 x 16.5 x 10.75 in. The overall dimensions, which include wheels and carry handles, are 27.25 x 17.75 x 11 in. When airlines publish size limits they mean the overall size, so compare the overall number to your airline's limit.
Linear inches are height + width + depth. This bag measures 52 linear inches by case dimensions and 56 including wheels and handles. The standard checked-bag limit on most airlines is 62 linear inches (158 cm). This bag sits within that limit. More detail in our luggage size and weight guide.
Expansion adds packing depth, which also adds to the bag's linear inches and invites heavier packing. If you are near your airline's size or weight limit, measure and weigh the bag expanded, the way it will actually fly.

Combine mild soap and water, apply with a soft cloth, gently rub until clean, rinse well, and let the bag air dry completely before storing. Surface scuffs on hardside shells are cosmetic and do not affect performance; store the bag in its provided fabric cover when not in use. More care tips are in our customer FAQ.
