Do the listed dimensions include wheels and handles?

We publish both numbers. The case dimensions (the packing body only) are 19.75 x 13.75 x 9.5 in. The overall dimensions, which include wheels and carry handles, are 23 x 14.5 x 9.5 in. When airlines publish size limits they mean the overall size, so compare the overall number to your airline's limit.

Will this carry-on fit my airline's size limits?

Yes, for the major U.S. airlines: this bag is sizer-bin tested and fits the carry-on sizers and overhead bins on mainline aircraft of the major U.S. carriers. Like most premium carry-ons, its overall height (23 in.) is slightly above the commonly published 22 x 14 x 9 in. standard, and it still fits where it matters: the sizer and the bin.

Does expanding the bag change whether it fits airline sizers?

Yes. The zippered expansion adds about 2 inches of packing depth, and a fully expanded bag may not fit a strict airline sizer. If your airline enforces its sizer, board with the bag unexpanded and save the expansion for the trip home or checked segments.

Can I charge my phone from this bag?

Yes. External USB-A and USB-C ports connect to a hidden battery sleeve inside the expansion gusset, positioned for easy access and FAA compliance. Bring your own power bank (not included), drop it in the sleeve, and charge without opening the bag. Port output specs: USB-A 5V / 2A (10W); USB-C 9V / 3A (27W).

How do I set the TSA lock combination?

The lock ships set to 0-0-0. To set your own code: turn the dials to 0-0-0, remove the zipper pullers from the lock, press the reset button on the side of the lock with a pen until it clicks, choose your combination, then press or slide the release button. How do I make a warranty claim or get repairs?

Submit a repair request through our warranty repair page for an online evaluation, with photos of the issue and your proof of purchase (or product registration). If the issue is covered, Travelpro provides replacement parts or, when a bag cannot be repaired under an active warranty, a replacement bag. Prefer in-person help? How do I clean and care for it?

Combine mild soap and water, apply with a soft cloth, gently rub until clean, rinse well, and let the bag air dry completely before storing. Surface scuffs on hardside shells are cosmetic and do not affect performance. The full-grain leather trim needs no special treatment; wipe it with a dry cloth. While I still love my Crew Classic set, this carry-on offers far superior organization, flexibility, and interior storage space. Every single compartment serves a clear, practical purpose. "As a frequent traveler I found this case to be everything I need . Perfect size. Love that there are straps on both sides of case. USB charging port a great feature. It seems to be made to take a beating . Zippers seem heavy duty enough to last. Handle adjusts perfectly to my desired height, Wheels glide effortlessly and case seems well balanced. The last trip I had plenty in the case and never had a problem with it tipping like other cases. A great case."

"This piece of luggage has quickly become my go-to piece, so I store it in front for quick and easy access. I particularly love the size, as it’s in between 2 other pieces and is the most ideal for many of my trips. It is very well done on the inside and the organization works well for me. The fabric used on the inside is really nice and seems durable. This is my first hardshell case and I’m hooked. I LOVE not having to worry about it getting damp in misty rain, and now I need more pieces of the same group. I am very pleased with the ease in which it rolls! There is nothing I would change about it!!"

My first hard sided bag

"My first hard sided bag - great for a weekend getaway. I usually pack for 7-10 days and have used the Platinum Elite carry on roll aboard for years. This bag holds less inside than the roll aboard even when expanded. The rails take up a lot of space. I found the zippered partition to be slightly restrictive in packing but I did appreciate the mesh and waterproof pockets to be helpful."

We have been a TravelPro

"We have been a TravelPro family ever since the original (soft side) check-in bag survived 4 years of college travel, moving and international trips including the middle east. This carry-on is "perfect" with the light yet sturdy shell which should clean up after a trip; thoughtful inside storage (one can fit enough for a short trip or carry-on for travel when concerned to not lose any checked luggage); and the special bonus of packing cubes, which I always use to stay organized, and luggage tag - extras so that one does not have to purchase separately. The carry-on itself looks professional and well made with the nice leather appointments and the wheels glide smoothly on carpet as well as hard surfaces. All -in- all this is a suitcase worth using for many years."

I received a new TRAVELPRO

"I received a new TRAVELPRO Platinum Elite Reserve for personal use and review. This is my first time in doing this so I will do my best to give you the most honest opinions. This Platinum Reserve is identical in size to my old well traveled bag. The Reserve is a spinner type bag as opposed to my old one which was a two wheeled bag. It took some attention on my part to use it as a spinner as it is designed to work and I found it unnatural at first to do so, but it also can be use as a two wheeler and dragged behind you. I did like the fact that is easier to maneuver the bag down the aisle of an airliner which was a relief to me. The Reserve is a hard shell bag as opposed to my old one which is a soft side. It looks like most all the other black bags traveling on the airport conveyor belt and as such will take the beating that the baggage handlers give them. I recommend using some sort of bright colored strap or handle wrap to help identify your bag. The interior size is identical to my old bag. I found it ample in size for a couple of days trip as long as you use some self-control when packing. The inside of the bag is what impressed me the most. The inside is a clam shell design and well thought out with hold-down straps to keep your wearables in place and flat. There are a number of zippered pockets to help organize your belongings. What amazed me the most was that the interior material was made from recycled plastic bottles. The feel of the material felt more like soft leather than everyday type cloth. Much better that what I would have expected for the price point of this bag. The only downside that I had with the Reserve was its lack of a small compartment accessible from the outside for travel documents. I suppose that's what tote bags are for. All-in-all I feel the the TravelPro Reserve bag is GREAT piece of luggage and made by a company that is well aware of what travelers need and are willing to backup their products with a good warranty.
