"I have owned the product for about 5 months. The first hole in the bag happened right away in the side drink pouce that has a breathable button on it. That easily ripped itself off. The second hole is appearing in the padding on the back, near the bottom. If you're like many travelers with a roller bag, you might carry it on a hook draped over the front of the roller bag. Moving it around like this does causes wear and tear. It's a cost of doing business. However, your basic Swissgear bag can handle this for years. But the material is so thin over the bottom of this bag, near the pads, that it now has a hole in it too after less than half a year of use. Worst of all, their customer service does anything to get you off the phone. Unhelpful and wouldn't listen. Highly recommend you spend elsewhere."
Best for: The laptop-first crowd, and carry-on minimalists.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the exact dimensions?
It measures 18 x 15 x 9.5 in. It weighs 4 lbs and holds 30 liters. That is the full exterior size, so you can compare it directly against airline or storage limits.
Can I bring this on the plane in addition to a carry-on?
On most airlines a bag like this travels as your personal item, stored under the seat, alongside a full-size carry-on in the bin. Check your airline's personal-item dimensions to confirm. Our airline size guide lists carry-on rules by carrier.
How much does it hold?
The listed capacity is 30 liters at 4 lbs empty.
Will it fit my laptop?
Yes, the padded sleeve fits laptops up to 16 inches. That covers virtually every mainstream laptop: the 16-inch MacBook Pro, MacBook Air 13 and 15, Dell XPS up to the XPS 16, Microsoft Surface Laptop, and 14 to 16 inch ThinkPad models, plus anything smaller. Screen size is the guide; a slim sleeve or case on the laptop usually still fits.
Does it have RFID protection?
Yes. The ID TheftBlock™ pocket is RFID-blocking, shielding passports and cards from wireless skimming while you travel.
How do I make a warranty claim or get repairs?
Submit a repair request through our warranty repair page for an online evaluation, with photos of the issue and your proof of purchase (or product registration). If the issue is covered, Travelpro provides replacement parts or, when a bag cannot be repaired under an active warranty, a replacement bag. Prefer in-person help? Find the nearest authorized repair center. Full coverage details are on the warranty information page.
How do I clean and care for it?
Use a 50/50 mixture of alcohol and water, apply with a soft cloth, and gently rub the affected area until the spot lifts. Let the bag air dry completely before storing. A little lemon juice in the mixture freshens the fabric. More care tips are in our customer FAQ.
What warranty does this come with?
Travelpro products are covered against defects in materials and workmanship. See our warranty pages for the coverage that applies to this collection, plus our 100-day satisfaction trial with free returns.

Best backpack I’ve ever owned!
"Best backpack I’ve ever owned! Quality is outstanding and the functionality was well thought out. I just used it for a 5 day trip and didn’t need another bag! Packed computer, 2 pair of pants, 5 shirts, socks and underwear along with needed toiletries. Held chargers, cables and sunglasses too!"
"Love it! Just what i was looking for. Needed a backpack for work, I was getting tired of my tote and felt like it didn’t have enough room. This backpack is perfect. The material feels high quality."
best backpack. I bought it
"best backpack. I bought it for travel but now use it everyday. Better than my old briefcase for work."
I ordered this bag in
"I ordered this bag in my ongoing search for the perfect travel solution. I think this is the closest I have come to achieving that goal. Plenty of room for a short trip, lots of logically placed pockets and compartments and, of course, the Travelpro quality. So far I am very pleased."
Excellent quality, build, feel, and
"Excellent quality, build, feel, and presentation. I’ve taken this on a couple work and personal trips already and there’s no going back. Plenty of space for laptop, spare travel monitor, and any and all essentials. Highly recommend!"
Perfect for all travel
"For years I’ve been taking 2 bags on short stays this does it all"
A really excellently designed backpack.
"A really excellently designed backpack. My single suggestion would be that the RIGHT side of the strap across the front—which can only be attached at the far right side—be allowed to be adjustable, so that it can be notched together in the middle of the chest."
This backpack is fantastic. The
"This backpack is fantastic. The build quality is superb. I'm a sucker for red and black (Go Dawgs!) so the color scheme was a natural fit. Functionally the red actually helps you see what's in the bag so that's super useful. It has room for my three laptops; personal, consulting company, and client. Futhermore there's enough room for all the adapters, cables, phone chargers, a change of clothes (with shoes), and more. Love this backpack."
After looking extensively at Briggs
"After looking extensively at Briggs &Riley as well as Tumi, I thought about how much I loved my Platinum Elite carryon and the excellent service TravelPro has provided. I could not locate a physical store to look at this back pack but took a change and ordered it. I cannot be happier with the functionality and quaility. TravelPro again delivers with exceptional functionality and quality!"
