Travelpro® Platinum® Elite Carry-On Spinner

I purchased this suitcase for

"I purchased this suitcase for my wife. We just completed our first trip with it. It was an international trip to Zurich from Tampa in Business class followed by a River Cruise on the Rhine and Moselle rivers and returning via Frankfurt to Tampa. My wife used it with a personal bag on top. She packed it fairly full but it rolled well over a wide variety of surfaces and held up well with no signs of use. It still looks like new. She is adjusting to the bucket style and soft sided coming from a check in Rimowa and a Carry-on Rimowa Salsa bag both of which are clam shell designs. We were motivated to give this bag a try in large part because of TravelPro's "real try it" policy and superb warranty along with their excellent reputation with travel professionals. The construction and materials are all top quality second to none. It rolls easy and is easy to handle with three handles, top, side and bottom. Attached are photos of the bag after our return. You can clearly see that it shows no signs of wear. One shortcoming is the lack of a built in TSA lock in the event you are forced to gate check or decide to check it. In this price range that should be a given. Having the name/address tag hidden in the back is a plus and minus. By not having a hanging name tag the information is less likely to be taken for nefarious reasons but luggage handlers on the cruise did not know to whom the bag belonged because they are used to external hanging tags and the bus that transported us from the airport to the boat just emptied out the luggage and it was up to the crew to find the owner cabin. We had to go and say we were missing a bag and then explain where the name tag was. A minor inconvenience but something to be aware of."

Replaced another carry on that

"Replaced another carry on that was constantly tipping over with the duffle over the handle and it didn't roll very easily. We had to make a connection on the opposite side of the terminal and it rolled like a breeze!"

So Far So Good I’m

"So Far So Good I’m writing this on the way home from my first trip with my new TravelPro Platinum Elite carry on. So far it has been easy to use and easy to carry. It is well built and sturdy. Fully packed, it is possible to lift and fit into an overhead bin. It moves more slowly with my shoulder bag attached. I’ll try it with a bag designed as an add on and see if it performs better. I’ve experienced a little difficulty navigating changes in ground material …. Floor to carpet, on carpet, seams between different surfaces. Overall, the bag has performed well on its first trip."

Excellent carry on!

"I just used it for a 2 week trip to Japan. This bag rolls so well over all kinds of terrain. Train stations, buses, airports, it can keep up! It has amazing capacity! I love the pockets. My previous (hardside) suitcase didn’t roll very well when it was full and it was really annoying! My husband has had his Platinum Elite for about 12 years and it still looks great! I got it the Coastal Blue color and it’s beautiful. I think it looks even better in person than online. Hope to have it for many years!"

I like the extra touches like the snap-in cosmetic bag and USB plug. The handing bag is very nice for packing dresses and shirts. I want to add the medium size to my travel bags."

I own ONLY TravelPro luggage

"I own ONLY TravelPro luggage and decided to buy a new carryon spinner bag thinking it might provide a smidge of extra space since it was a newer model. It did not. In fact it seemed to hold even LESS than my husband’s older bag. But more upsetting was the fact that the handle would not extend completely for the first leg of our trip - causing some very awkward walking. It also has wonky wheels that won’t go straight - consistently steering slightly left or right, almost causing me to trip. The bag’s appearance is nice, the vintage grey is a nice retro look and the leather strap is cool. Other than that - disappointed in my latest TravelPro purchase."

Lots of space for carry

"Lots of space for carry on with tons of extra space with all the zipper pockets and storage bags inside. The wheels are so smooth to roll around in any direction with ease. The only issue I am having is the pull up handle gets stuck a bit too low and I can't get it to rise higher. Other than that, it's amazing!!!"

What a bag! It has

"What a bag! It has everything. It's a great size, it has every pocket, divider, section you can imagine. It has a place for a charger, toiletries, longer garments, etc. I keep finding more about it and it gets better. On top of all of that, it glides like a dream. It has great functionality, beautiful design, and I have no doubt it will prove its durability for years to come."
