It measures 17 x 14.5 x 8.5 in. It weighs 3.7 lbs and holds 25 liters. That is the full exterior size, so you can compare it directly against airline or storage limits.
On most airlines a bag like this travels as your personal item, stored under the seat, alongside a full-size carry-on in the bin. Check your airline's personal-item dimensions to confirm. Our airline size guide lists carry-on rules by carrier.
The listed capacity is 25 liters at 3.7 lbs empty.
Yes, the padded sleeve fits laptops up to 16 inches. That covers virtually every mainstream laptop: the 16-inch MacBook Pro, MacBook Air 13 and 15, Dell XPS up to the XPS 16, Microsoft Surface Laptop, and 14 to 16 inch ThinkPad models, plus anything smaller. Screen size is the guide; a slim sleeve or case on the laptop usually still fits.

Use a 50/50 mixture of alcohol and water, apply with a soft cloth, and gently rub the affected area until the spot lifts. Let the bag air dry completely before storing. A little lemon juice in the mixture freshens the fabric. More care tips are in our customer FAQ.

"I love this backpack. I brought it on a work trip and was able to fit my hard hat and work gear, along with a change of clothes and laptop. The number of pockets is very nice and helps keep things organized. The only thing I would change is the handle on the top. It is a little too long and can get tangled when trying to put the bag on a roller suitcase. Regardless it feels like a great quality bag and I love it."
"Excellent backpack!! Plenty of compartments that’s not visible in the actual advertisement. The medium is much bigger than I thought it would be."
"This is a fantastic backpack. I really like how tall the bottle holders are on both sides, and the fact that there are bottle holders on both sides. There is just enough room inside for everything I need, including a backpack, a tablet, a ton of supplies, a spare jacket and snacks."
"I have at least 6 different Travelpro bags and am generally pleased with their quality both in product and packaging as well as post sales customer service. Here’s a list of everything I generally need for my daily commute to work or a trip: 1. Laptop 2. Battery Pack 3. Charging Plug 4. Charging Cord 5. A bag full of miscellaneous – Bluetooth mouse, USB C Hub, a corded headset, Bluetooth Headset etc. 6. A pouch full of my passport, and other identification documents for international travel 7. A rather long Lightning Cable for my iPhone 12 Pro Max 8. Pair of reading glasses 9. Legal Pad 10. Pen In the very first picture you will notice the piece of cardboard that stops a customer from accidentally cutting into the bag. Great thinking, Travelpro! It’s the little things that matter. Remember that list of things? Well, all of these items fit nicely in the bag with lots of room to spare. The quality is stellar and unmistakably Travelpro (as I have come to expect from it. ) There is a spot for a tracking tag. The bag is stylish and the adjustable shoulder straps feel great on my shoulders. I love the comfortable handles which can be secured together on top of the bag. There is strap on the back that allows you to attach this to the handle of your carryon. This will part of my upcoming . international journey to Mexico in early December. If I am allowed updates, I’ll share more pictures / thoughts. But all in all, I highly recommend this product for a daily commute to your office and back or a trip anywhere for your required digital life."
"Enjoy the multiple storage pockets that keep you organized. Easy to find items if I can remember where I put it. Do not like the split carry handles. Makes opening the main pocket difficult when handle is closed."
"I love backpacks, and one of my dorky hobbies is watching backpack videos. Before I got a new one, I investigated more than 100 backpacks. This one is close to perfect. I'll start with the complaints, since I think that's what people are looking for when they read a review. 1. No hip belt. Lots of similar bags have a hip belt or removable hip belt. I do miss it when the bag is fully loaded. 2. Chest strap is a little fiddly. I'd prefer the magnetic or even plastic buckles I've seen elsewhere. 3. Water bottle holder is inelegant. If you are a daily water bottle person (like I am), you will have to have the side pouch permanently expanded, which affects the clean lines on the bag. It does work incredibly well, though — I was worried that my water bottle would fall out or slip around, and it really does not. The pros — really everything else. I love the thoughtful pockets. I found a spot for everything I owned incredibly quickly. There are more pockets than are shown in the video, and despite having only one "main" pocket (instead of two like many bags have with one large pocket and one "organizer" pocket), everything has stayed organized. The straps are well padded and comfortable. The zippers are a dream. The fabric is so strong and smooth. I thought I'd hate the top handles, but I actually love them — moving the bag around it is so convenient and doesn't require zipping everything up all the time. The expansion works well and isn't clunky or ugly. And when it's not expanded, you don't even realize it's there. There's a little loop on the side that's perfect for hanging a baggage tag or a neck pillow. My partner thought it would look like I was a pilot for a regional airliner, but he agrees it's very good looking. I don't look like I'm going to middle school or on a hike. I just look like an adult with a good backpack. It's just an amazing bag, and it was worth the price for sure."
"I am a frequent flyer, and I rely on the quality of Travel Pro products. My new TP Altitude Backpack is durable and has plenty of storage pouches. It is equipped with heavy-duty zippers and padded shoulder straps. I highly recommend the TP Altitude Backpack for anyone desiring a stylish yet durable bag."
"Decent bag but some odd choices. I liked the idea of an expandable bag that I could keep "smaller" just going back and forth to work and expand when actually travelling. This is close. . . Some good things: the sizes are just about right for me. My current bags are roughly 30L (including a Crew Exec Choice 3 Large bag), so the capacities are good for my needs. I'm used to some of the storage organizers from the other TP bag I have and there seems to be enough for my needs. The shoulder straps are also improved from the Crew Exec bag I have - those straps would randomly loosen up on their own. Now a couple things that feel like they could be improved. 1) The weight. This is a full 1 lb heavier than the 30L Crew Exec bag. I assume some amount of that is the expansion system but there's no way that's all of it. It is noticeably heavier overall with the same contents. 2) The top handles. Why are there two handles on top? And you HAVE to undo them to get into the main compartment or the laptop compartment. WHY? That just makes me leave them constantly open and they flop around. This is so unnecessary. Despite the photos, I don't think I picked up on this when I bought it. Just weird. Overall a nice bag, really. But that handle thing is just dumb and the weight seems unnecessary. Those two improvements alone would make a much nicer bag."
"Excellent product"
